My Favorite Firefox Extensions

I’m using Firefox as main browser (except on mobile due to iOS/iPadOS restrictions), and I particularly like the powerful extensions. Here’s the list of extensions I recommend.

Privacy Enhancements

  • 1Password – Password Manager: Not much to say about it. Must-have if you’re using 1Password.

  • ClearURLs: Strips tracking elements from URLs to keep your browsing behavior private.

  • Decentraleyes: Emulates local Content Delivery Networks to reduce third-party requests and improve privacy.

  • Privacy Badger: Blocks third-party trackers that follow your web activity across sites.

  • uBlock Origin: The best adblocker out there. Chrome crippled it.

Usability Boosters

  • Firefox Multi-Account Containers: Segregate your work and personal browsing activities without switching browsers or profiles.

  • Sidebery: An advanced tab manager for those who like their workspace organized. Using this at work mostly where I usually have hundreds of tabs open.

  • Vimium: Navigate webpages without a mouse; perfect for keyboard enthusiasts.

Developer Tools

  • HTTP Version Indicator: Identifies the HTTP version a website is using. For the curious minds.

  • IPvFoo: Shows whether a website uses IPv4 or IPv6, useful for network diagnostics.

  • Refined GitHub: Makes GitHub more developer-friendly by streamlining its interface and adding tons of features.

Site-Specific Enhancements

Miscellaneous

  • Consent-O-Matic: Automatically accepts cookie consent forms, making browsing less interruptive.

  • QuaranTab: Cut off websites from the Internet to ensure they’re not leaking stuff.

  • Share to Mastodon: Share interesting content easily to your Mastodon social feed.

  • GNOME Shell integration: Install web-based extensions to your GNOME desktop environment.
